Teaching Math To Preschoolers

Updated: Feb 11, 2021

Are you looking for math activities for children? Maybe looking for insights on how to get started with homeschool math?

We want to help you get started!

We know that math can be scary. Most of us were not experts in math and therefore are worried we will “mess it up” for our children.

Relax! The good news is that math for preschoolers is really easy!

First of all, you already know more math than you have to teach a preschooler.

Secondly, your own brain has developed since you were in school, so even if you have to learn or relearn math, it will be much easier for you.

Thirdly, there is so much out there on the internet to help you if you get stuck on a concept!

Fourthly, your only job for teaching math to your preschooler is to make the most basic math fun! Math games, math songs, little experiments…all those together moments that preschoolers LOVE will make them realize that math is not scary, that it's fun and something to look forward to.

So to help you with that, we’re going to keep a master link list of our math activities/lessons and teaching helps/philosophy pages (because we too still have nightmares of showing up to trig class to find that we missed the whole semester and just showed up for the final!). You can check this page periodically to see what new has been added, or you can just type “Math” in the search bar of the blog.
